Zonder Titel – Miosis

Name Artwork: Zonder Titel
Artist: Miosis
Location: Stadstuin Tweede Promenade, Heerlen
Year: 2019

MIOSIS, or Dutch Marijke Lüdwig, is a young illustrator and designer with a studio in the CBS/Carbon6 building, where she also sets tattoos. ‘MIOSIS’ literally means ’the constriction of the pupil in the eye due to contraction of the Musculus sphincterpupillae, the opposite of mydriasis.’ It is the reaction of our eyes to light.

From an early age, Marijke Lüdwig knew she did not want to be part of the ‘normal’ world, She makes her work to amaze, inspire and touch others, preferably by giving them the ‘eyes wide open’. The quality of the work is undeniable, and there are still many opportunities to develop and specialise further. The result in the City Garden is an inspiring mural that calls for: ‘Speak Your Words’.

This building has since been demolished.
